Complete steel traceability for the automotive industry
SustainTrack implements blockchain technology to certify the traceability of recycled materials, such as scrap metal, in the automotive and steel industries. This ensures that recycled materials used in vehicle manufacturing come from verified sources, promoting transparency throughout the supply chain. In partnership with Barna Steel, the project boosts the circular economy by certifying the use of recycled steel in the production of automobiles, contributing to sustainability in both sectors.

SustainTrack's challenge
What solution is required?
SustainTrack employs blockchain technology, utilizing the platform CircularTrust based on Hyperledger Besu, to certify the traceability of recycled materials in the automotive supply chain. The solution includes customized software that allows companies to record and verify information from dismantled vehicles, transforming them into recycled materials for the manufacture of new automobiles.
Funcionalidades de SustainTrack
Data registration and verification
Supply chain participants can record information on recycled materials, such as license plates and VINs of recycled vehicles.
Traceability
Through blockchain, full traceability of materials is ensured from origin to reuse in the production of new vehicles.
Certification of Materials
SustainTrack allows certifying that recycled materials meet the required standards, promoting transparency and reliability in the process.
Partners and Next Steps
The project is supported by Barna Steela company of the group Celsa Group and has been developed with the support of ACCIÓ through a grant for open and disruptive innovation projects.
