Blockchain for Traceability of Recycled Materials in the Automotive Industry
CarTrack is a project that uses blockchain technology to automate the traceability of waste and recycled parts in the automotive industry. Through the CircularTrust platform, it ensures transparency and verifies the origin of recycled materials, promoting the circular economy. The solution allows tokenizing waste and generating digital passports for each piece, ensuring its efficient reuse. In collaboration with DRA Balear, Ferimet and Global Steel Wire, CarTrack aims to improve sustainability in the automotive supply chain.

What solution is required?
The solution uses blockchain technology to ensure the traceability of automotive waste, from the decontamination of vehicles to the reuse of parts as raw material in industry. The platform, based on CircularTrustautomates the transactions and certifications required to validate the authenticity and origin of recycled materials, using tokenization systems that generate digital twins of the physical objects.

Automated traceability and certification of recycled materials using blockchain
CarTrack allows automatic traceability of waste and recycled parts in the automotive industry, applying blockchain technology. This traceability guarantees that the materials come from certified sources and facilitates access to information on the origin and percentage of recycled material, ensuring the authenticity of each component used.
Tokenization of waste and creation of digital passports
The solution makes possible to tokenize waste, associating a "digital passport" to each piece. This passport contains detailed information on the life cycle of each recycled material, from its origin to its reuse in new products, ensuring efficient and transparent reuse in the supply chain.
Integration with ERP and Business Intelligence tools for optimization
Partners and Next Steps
The project includes the participation of DRA Balear SLan authorized decontamination and vehicle recycling center in Mallorca, which acts as the promoter entity. The startup Blue Circular Innovation SL provides the blockchain technology through the platform CircularTrust. In addition, the collaboration of Ferimet and Global Steel Wiretwo leading companies in the production and reuse of steel in Europe, providing recycled materials and participating in the pilot test. This initiative is part of Activa Startups, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union - Next Generation EU and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism.
